EXPANDED LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES PROGRAM (ELOP)

District ELOP Plan

Philosophy

The After School Program supports an overall philosophy that encourages a child's social and emotional development as well as their academic progress.

History

Since the 1991, Twin Hills School District assumed the administrative responsibilities of the After School Program in order to continue to provide a high quality program.

Goal

The purpose of the After School Program is to provide and maintain a safe, caring environment for the children.

Environment

The staff creates a nurturing environment where the children learn mutual respect for others and build long lasting friendships.

Activities

The program offers various activities such as, arts and crafts, inside games (board games, puzzles, legos, drawing, etc.). and outside activities. Also available is computer time and a supervised homework time. See schedule at right.

SNACK

A nutritious snack is offered each afternoon. The snack consists of fruit and crackers or chips. Once a week a special snack is prepared such as nachos, pizza bread, baked potatoes, burritos, etc.
